Despite reports to the contrary, Trace Adkins and his estranged wife, Rhonda, are not getting back together.

Radar Online reported Wednesday (June 17) that Rhonda had called off the divorce — which she filed in March of 2014 — after reconsidering her relationship with the country star. The site reports that Rhonda withdrew her divorce petition on June 1, and while that's true, Trace Adkins' attorney, Larry Hayes, Jr., says the celebrity gossip site misunderstood the intent behind that course of action.

“Radar Online’s recent report is inaccurate," Adkins' lawyer says in a statement to Taste of Country. "The Adkins have settled their divorce amicably. Rhonda and Trace made this decision together in the best interest of their family. All that remains is for the court to approve the agreements that have been executed by them both. An updated petition seeking such Court approval will be filed in the coming days.”

According to the Chancery Court in Williamson County, Tenn., the divorce filing has been expunged from the public record. A source tells Taste of Country that sometimes that can indicate the involved parties have decided to move into private mediation, rather than go through a public divorce.

The country star and his soon-to-be-ex-wife met when he was an aspiring country star and she was working in publicity at Arista Records in Nashville. They have three daughters together.
