Trisha Yearwood is about to marry two of her longtime abilities: being in front of an audience and offering up delicious southern fare. The Grammy Award winning artist has already authored two bestselling cookbooks — ‘Cooking for Family and Friends’ and ‘Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen’ — and now she’s about to step into the spotlight with her own six-episode cooking show on the Food Network.

Though the title of the show has not yet been announced, viewers can expect to see Yearwood in one of her many elements: in her very own kitchen cooking meals for friends and family with a dash of southern charm — with some new music in the mix.

“I’m having such a great time filming this show for Food Network!” Yearwood writes on Facebook. “Don’t worry, music fans, I’m working on a new record, too! There will be food and some music on this show … stay tuned!”

“Fans know Trisha best as a music powerhouse, and through her new Food Network show audiences will learn firsthand what her friends and family already know — that Trisha is a talented, passionate rock star cook, too,” Food Network GM and Senior VP of Programming and Production Bob Tuschman tells the Hollywood Reporter. “We look forward to sharing this side of Trisha with viewers, showcasing an intimate, entertaining look at her personal recipes, family traditions and warm Southern hospitality.”

The show, which is set to debut in April, will be produced by Ellen Rakieten Entertainment and RelativityREAL, who have already begun production in Nashville.
