Two Redwater High School students are hospitalized after passing out at school from allegedly smoking synthetic marijuana. The Bowie County Sheriff's Office was called to the school after the incident this morning. The investigation revealed that the two male high school students had allegedly smoked synthetic marijuana, also known also as K2.

Sheriff James Prince said the synthetic drug is very dangerous.

"Smoking synthetic marijuana is like playing Russian roulette because you don't know the danger or whether you are going to live or die. Synthetic marijuana is not like regular marijuana and is extremely dangerous and can be deadly."

Authorities have not released the names or ages of those involved. The boys' condition is unknown at this time.

Sheriff Prince says investigators talked to other students, some of whom said they had also smoked the synthetic marijuana prior to school today. The investigation is ongoing.
