Many folks will be celebrating Easter weekend by getting together with family and friends, attending church service and going on an Easter egg hunt. There are two events not too terribly far from home that not only you will love but your dog will love, too.

One is Mountain Harbor's Easter Egg Hunt, Dog Hunt and Fire Truck Parade held Saturday, March 26, at nearby Hot Springs, Ark. The name reveals a lot.

The fun starts with a huge Easter egg hunt, followed by games and the very popular "Doggie Easter Egg Hunt." That's right, your four-legged furry friend gets to hunt for hidden doggie treats all over the grounds at Mountain Harbor Resort at Lake Ouachita. When the hunting comes to an end, kids and adults can jump on fire trucks for the Fire Truck Parade.

And if you decide to stay the night you can enjoy an Easter sunrise service on the lake at 6:30AM.

At nearby Little Rock, Ark., on Saturday, March 26, it's the 11th Annual Dog-Gone Easter Egg Hunt -- a fun event for dogs and charity. It will contain more than 5,000 hidden eggs with every egg containing a prize or doggie treat. This event will be held at Reservoir Park with registration beginning at noon and the Easter egg hunt starting at 1PM.

There will also be live music, a silent auction, contests, food and an Easter Bonnet Parade. So dress up your dog in an Easter costume and come join the fun.  For more information call 501-541-1057.
