Two Year Old Dead; Texarkana Man Jailed

Texarkana Texas Police continue to investigate the death of a two year old over this past weekend.Dalton Slaton died at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock from multiple injuries. 32 year old Jimmy Paul Mahone is jailed under 1.5 millon dollars bond.

Authorities say Mahone, an acquaintance of the family took custody of the toddler sometime on Friday from a baby sitter. Reportedly the sitter later found the child crying while Mahone was holding him. Initial reports of the child falling from a porch proved to be false.

The child's body was sent to Dallas for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. This is the fourth homicide of the year for Texarkana, Texas.
