TxDOT to Repair Beam on I-30 Overpass
A steel beam located on the southern side of the Interstate 30 overpass at State Highway 98 near New Boston will be repaired this spring.
According to plans approved in January by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), “The southernmost beam has been struck twice recently by oversized loads passing underneath the structure on SH 98,” said Kenny Icenhower, area engineer for TxDOT in Texarkana. “The contractor will repair the beam and repaint it.”
CDM Holdings of New Boston was awarded the contract for the construction on these projects with a bid of $90,000.
Work on the project should begin in March 2016 and take about two months to complete, Icenhower said.
