Yesterday we reported that a rumor had been circulating that Knile Davis may be ready to play this Saturday against Mississippi State. Late yesterday, Coach Petrino put that rumor to rest.

It is true that Knile has been practicing for around three weeks, but according to Coach Petrino he still has some hardware that needs to be removed from his surgically repaired ankle and he has not been cleared by doctors to play.

However, both Offensive Coordinator Garrick McGee and Running Backs Coach Tim Horton say Knile is close to being ready to play. So, while Coach P has ruled out him playing against the Bulldogs on Saturday, he didn't rule out Knile playing against LSU or in the Razorbacks bowl game.
