AROUND ARKANSAS (Nov. 11, 2011) – Veterans and active duty military personnel are invited to view video messages recorded this week just for them at YouTube.com/VerizonVeterans.

“Americans enjoy the freedoms we have today because of the courage and sacrifices of our military,” said Steve Smith, president of Verizon Wireless’ South Central Region, which includes Arkansas. “We wanted to do something special for our veterans by letting them know how much they are appreciated here in Arkansas.”

Veterans visiting the Verizon Veterans YouTube channel can watch more than 20 personal video messages, with more videos being posted throughout the day today [Friday, Nov. 11].

“Communication between veterans and their loved ones continues to improve, despite the thousands of miles of distance between them,” Smith said. “Just 20 years ago, we were writing letters. Today’s deployed troops are more likely to contact family and friends from half a world away through mobile devices and the Internet. We’re proud to be able to make that experience even better through Verizon technology.”
