I had a chance to drop by Hospice of Texarkana located at 803 Spruce Street as they presented Good Grief Day Friday, June 20. For more than a decade Hospice has offered this 4 hour summer program that is designed to help kids age 7-15 who are grieving. I handed out some I Love Kicker wristbands and had lunch with the kids thanks to Pizza Hut. Then everyone headed outside to take photos and pet some animals provided by CK Ranch. Hospice strongly believes that animal therapy helps with the healing process. Many of the children in attendance have been dealing with personal issues such as death, divorce, the deployment or incarceration of a loved one. Finally, the day ended with a balloon release with a special message "to send to their loved one."

Special thanks to Stefanie Brazile, Cindy, Amy and all the staff at Hospice for allowing me to come out and be a part of such a meaningful day. I will cherish this day forever.
