Former Pleasant Grove star pitcher Michael Wacha was as good as any pitcher ever in baseball over a five game span. The 22 year old Cardinal rookie was absolutely fantastic in that stretch which included four post-season victories. You knew he was do for a sub-par performance. Unfortunately that came in last night's World Series finale as the Red Sox clubbed the Cardinals 6-1 to wrap up the championship.

Wacha gave up more runs last night than he had in the previous five games combined. That shows just how awesome a run he was on in those games.

The future is bright for our Texarkana hero. St. Louis, which is loaded with mostly younger talent, is also poised to hopefully return  to the Fall Classic over the next few years.

This year however goes to the bearded veterans from Boston.
