Walk-Off Inmate Found in Central Arkansas Homeless Shelter

An inmate who had been on the run since last week is back in custody this morning.

Joshua Patterson, 37, was captured over the weekend at a homeless shelter in Central Arkansas. Prison officials say the work-release inmate at the Texarkana Regional Correction Center escaped last Monday.

The Arkansas Department of Corrections says Patterson escaped when he left his job at M&M Milling in Texarkana. Officials say Patterson was not at the job site when prison staff arrived at 6AM on Monday, October 19, to pick him up from his job.

According to the ADC, Patterson is serving time for a theft of property conviction out of Benton County and his last known residence was Pulaski County. He is now facing additional charges for escaping.
