In conjunction with the Beatles at the Ridge festival this weekend, Sept. 18-19 in Walnut Ridge, Ark., this Friday, the US Postal Service, Walnut Ridge Office, will host a special dedication ceremony for the Elvis Presley Forever Stamp. The event is from 10AM until noon and will take place at the Guitar Walk in Walnut Ridge, Ark. The stamp’s dedication and following events are free. Special commemorative cachets will be available for purchase in honor of the ceremony.

This will be the only place in Arkansas to get the first cancellation of the Elvis Forever commemorative stamp. Get your commemorative stamp and meet author Ivor Davis who was there 50 years ago when Elvis met the Beatles.

Ivor Davis, author of The Beatles and Me on Tour was like a fly on the wall when he attended the private meet-and-greet with Elvis and The Beatles in August 1965. Having witnessed their jam session, Ivor will share insights and memories from the evening when the King of Rock and Roll met The Beatles.

Now, 50 years later, Davis returns to Walnut Ridge as a guest speaker at the annual Beatles at the Ridge commemoration. He will speak from 5:30 to 6:30PM, at Friday’s Artists and Authors Symposium in the Studio on Main Street. Davis will autograph copies of his book following the symposium and all day Saturday.
