Oddly enough, it wasn't the last guitar picked for kickball in middle school.

It has always seemed curious to me that Chase Bryant plays a pink guitar. I thought maybe it was a statement piece, an identifier, or just the last one available without a broken string. Turns out, the instrument holds sentimental value to the "Little Bit of You" singer.

It started when Chase was a child.

According to Rolling Stone, when Chase was a kid he dreamed of the day he would have his own guitar... And yes, in that dream the guitar was, in fact, pink. It didn't seem like a big deal to Chase, who saw Elvis Presley with his pink Cadillac.

His dream was evident on the back of his math exams growing up, as he would rush through them only to turn them over and doodle what he called "Guitar Center's Chase Bryant Signature Guitar."

"It was a left-handed body, right-handed neck, Tele-style guitar."

A few years after school, he sent those drawings to a guitar company and had it built. The guitar has kind of become a good luck charm or Chase, but it has also proven to dependable. It has never broken or fallen apart, no matter how many times Chase throws it around. In fact, the famous guitar has even been stolen, but the thieves were caught before they drove out of the venue in which they lifted it.

You just can't come between a man and his pink guitar.
