I was a 70s teenager and I have seen my share of cassette recorders, shag carpet and mirrors on the ceiling.

I used to wear bell bottom jeans, wide belts, platform shoes and polyester flowery shirts. Totally cool right? Maybe during that era but not so much today.

However, there is a new generation of kids who love the groovy 60s and 70s and even the 80s stuff. In fact, some like decorating their rooms or apartments with the retro look. If it's done right it can be pretty hip.

However, there was a recent survey by Scotsman that asked people which decade had the worst decor. What you thought was cool back in the day, your kids probably look back on with a resounding "What were you thinking?"

Forty-three percent said the 70s had the worst decor -- especially the pea green furniture. And let's not forget about disco balls hanging from just about everywhere you can imagine.

Sixteen percent say the 80s was the worst decade because it had the worse decor. Remember all the neon signs and the overuse of zig-zag patterns? And how about being overrun with cassette tapes?

Twelve percent hated the 60s because of shag carpet, Baby, and way too much of the color brown. And how could you forget the peace sign symbol? Well, I still think it's cool today, actually.

Six percent mentioned the 50s as the worst era due to linoleum and vinyl flooring. And how about those vinyl chairs?
