Whiskey Myers Takes The Stage at Shooters August 17 [VIDEO]

Whiskey Myers is coming to Shooters this Saturday, August 17. This east Texas band from around the Tyler, TX area is ready to bring their own brand of country to town.Lead singer Cody Cannon said, "We don't really plan anything,"  "We wing it a lot, especially about songwriting. We probably should write a certain song or a certain way to appeal to a certain demographic but that's kind of lame. It's not natural. We try to stay as organic as we can. We just like to play music and that's what we do. And it comes out however it comes out."

Often reduced to a one-dimensional stereotype, the kind of music that inspired Whiskey Myers are artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, and Hank Williams, Jr. The band is actually multifaceted and inventive, drawing from country, R&B, psychedelic rock, and string band traditions.
