Why is Jake Owen Having Dinner with Kanye West?

This seems like an unlikely duo to be breaking bread together.

When not touring the southern east coast in a Volkswagen Bus, Jake Owen is apparently rubbing elbows with some unlikely people. Most recently, during a Facebook live chat with our night show Taste of Country, Jake revealed that he had dinner with Kanye West.

Huh?

Our thoughts exactly. And we didn't really have a chance to learn why he would have dinner with him. The chat ended with "Oh yeah, I had dinner with Kanye West. Long story." Although reasons weren't given, despite one fan's better efforts to find out, he did say that all would be explained soon and that he picked up the tab.

Maybe this is a part of this love campaign that he has been on. Not that he has every hated Kanye, that we can tell, but maybe to show others that literally anyone can be friends. Maybe we'll see one insane collaboration from the two.
