The man from Delight, Ark., Glen Campbell, is coming back to his hometown area on Saturday, Nov. 17 for his hugely successful Goodbye Tour. The tour has been selling out all across the country to rave reviews. I've always enjoyed listening to Glen Campbell when I was growing up because my parents were such huge fans and had most of his records.

During his 50 years in show business, Campbell has released more than 70 albums. He has sold 45 million records and racked up 12 RIAA Gold albums, 4 Platinum albums and 1 Double-Platinum album. Of his 75 trips up the charts, 27 landed in the Top 10. Some of his hits include "Gentle on My Mind", "By the Time I Get to Phoenix", "Wichita Lineman", "Southern Nights" and "Rhinestone Cowboy".

Although, Campbell has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, he decided to go public about it during his Goodbye Concert Tour. Campbell’s first date on the Goodbye Tour was reviewed by Chris Talbott, AP entertainment writer, who stated “It was classic Glen Campbell last Friday night in Biloxi, Miss.. Alzheimer's disease may have changed a lot of things in the Country Music Hall of Famer's life, but his ability to create sounds that still resonate in our shared memory with his blue G&L Comanche on "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" or his Hamer 12-string on "Southern Nights" is virtually untouched…”

Campbell will perform one show only Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8p.m. at the Perot Theatre. Tickets will go on sale Friday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at the Perot Theatre box office, perottheatre.com or by calling (903) 792-4992. Ticket prices are $55-$85 (not including $2 facility preservation fee.)
