The Bowie County Master Gardeners/Texas A&M-Texarkana will present a program on “Winterizing Your Garden” next Monday, October 8.

The event will be at Texas A&M University from 6:00PM  until 8:00PM. The class is free and open to the public. The class will take place in the University Center Building, Room 232. No reservation is required to attend.

The Program will be presented by Aarron Corbin, a Texas Master Gardener and currently President of the Bowie County Master Gardeners.

Properly winterizing the garden will not only help plants survive the short gray days and bitter nights that winter brings, it’s an important step in ensuring the garden will produce colorful flowers and vegetables in the spring.

Taking extra time and energy to winterize your garden helps keep it healthy and protected while you wait for the spring planting season. A little winter prep can really pay off when spring arrives, but don't forget that your garden tools need a little TLC as well. Aarron will be sharing tips on how to keep them in great shape while you await the return of warm, sunny days.
