On Tuesday, October 1 from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. citizens in neighborhoods across Texarkana, Arkansas will be turning their lights on and getting together with friends and neighbors for an evening outside to celebrate the “30th Annual National Night Out".

In 2012 over 37.5 million people from over 15,704 communities across the United States participated in National Night Out last year. The National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote “neighborhood spirit” and “community partnerships”.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Local Police, Fire Department, and City Hall officials will start their visits at  6:00 p.m. and be available for questions you can share about concerns of police services in your neighborhood.

If you are interested in getting your neighborhood involved in this exceptional community event, please call and register today at 903-824-4199 or by email at kmitchell@txkusa.org.
