Texas singer-songwriter Adam Fears is coming back to Texarkana Saturday, January 24, to perform in concert at Fat Jack's bar & grill. Fears was there back in early November for an acoustic performance with a couple of band members, but this time he's bringing his entire band for a plugged-in version.

Fears, who signed to Faverett Tracks Publishing in 2007, started writing songs and co-wrote “The Gospel According to Jones,” as a tribute to one of his main influences, the late great George Jones.

During this time, Adam began working with hit songwriter-turned producer Jeremy Stover (Jack Ingram, Justin Moore). Together with Jamie Paulin, they wrote “There’s A Girl Out There,” the first single from Adam’s album Golden Gravel Road. The song is currently #29 on the Texas Regional Radio charts and #44 on the Texas Music Charts and continues to rise. Texas Music Pickers magazine calls Adam Fears one of the "Top 14 Best Kept Secrets in Texas Music" and I have to agree the dude is flat out good. I'm scratching my head wondering why he's not on the mainstream country charts. "There's a Girl Out There" is good as any record out there on the charts now.

In fact, "There's a Girl Out There" is ranked #26 by Texas Regional Radio and #34 on the Texas Music Charts. The song has also been added to CMT Pure Lonestar All-Star video rotation and to Great American Country (GAC). His last single "Middle of Nowhere" finished in the Top 20. In addition, Adam has been featured in numerous Texas music magazines including Country Line magazine, Best in Texas magazine and IN magazine. Texas Music Pickers.com voted "There's a Girl Out There" Best New Single.

In addition to being an accomplished singer-songwriter Fears plays the guitar, mandolin and banjo. An avid outdoorsman, he learned to love fishing alongside his grandfather, who maintained a number of lakes in East Texas.

When I went to see Fears' show at Fat Jacks back in November, I was totally blown away. He worked the crowd into a frenzy by his range of songs that he knew and even was pretty funny as he joked with the crowd. His impersonation of Willie Nelson was spot on and even played some Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley, George Strait and more. He reminds me of another singer-songwriter who I think is under appreciated for his vocal ability and that's Randy Houser.

If you love country music and want to have a good time, come out and listen to Fears sing. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. My buddy Jason with the Dusty Rose Band is expected to kick off the show.

I'll have Fears in the Kicker studios Thursday afternoon (Jan. 22) to perform his latest single on the Garcia Express in the 5 o'clock hour. Make sure you tune in!
