So imagine this, you are a bike rider, you and your friends are going to take part in the Cape Argus Tour in South Africa and the day before you decide to take a warm-up ride down to the Cape of Good Hope on the Southern tip of Africa. Somewhere along the way you pick up a new friend.

I don't know about you but we're working our way through another week full of Monday's around here. I stumbled across this video earlier today and was just in awe of these magnificent creatures.

These two Indian Ringneck parakeets just can't seem to keep their beaks off each other.

This week's featured pet is an adult shepherd mix from the shelter. He is already neutered, which means the adoption fee is less than $60. Sarge is good on a leash and loves affection. He is a great guard dog and no one will arrive at your home without him letting you know that you have company. His bark is scary but he is a sweetheart.

Three dogs at the animal shelter will soon be taking a trip out of the wrong door if they are not adopted or moved into foster homes quickly. Spike, Candy and Dotty deserve a chance to have a life beyond the confinement of the animal shelter. Please share their video and photos to help find great homes for each of these sweet dogs.

Odie is a gorgeous Catahoula dog. He has an even temperament. He is known as the "lazy dog" at the shelter but trust me, this boy has enough energy to do whatever you have in mind for the day. He is just pretty laid back the rest of the time.

Today's featured pet is an adorable, sweet puppy. He came into the shelter a week or so ago and was spunky but now he is not. It could be for many different reasons, some being very simple to fix and others may require more expense and recovery time. The shelter does not have the funds to take dogs to the vet so he will need to be rescued to be saved.

Matron came to the shelter with babies, adorable babies. Those little ones have since been adopted but momma dog Matron is still waiting for her ticket to freedom.

All of these dogs are at the shelter in Texarkana hoping their owners come for them or praying they are adopted into new homes. Some just came in and others have been there a few weeks. Please share these videos to help save these pets.

This adorable orange kitty caught my eye and I just had to take him out of the cage to get to know him better and oh my goodness, he was so much fun. This young boy is playful and so full of personality that it was addicting to continue to play with him.

Swiss is an adult corgi mix. She is a great dog to walk on a leash and could get you out of the house and on the road to fitness with daily walks. Swiss isn't much for playing games but she is a great companion.
