‘Haven Hustle’ 5K and Car Show Set for Sept 20 in Downtown Texarkana

Texarkana’s historic downtown will be the backdrop for the “Do the Haven Hustle” 5K and Benefit Car Show on Saturday, September 20, with proceeds supporting Haven Homes of Texarkana.

Run Through Texarkana’s Historic Landmarks

The 5K run will take place from 8 to 11 AM, covering a 3.1-mile route that passes many of the city’s best-known landmarks, including St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Beech Street Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, the Stateline Federal Building and Post Office, the Perot Theatre, the Hotel Grim, Silvermoon on Broad, City Hall, several war memorials, and the Arts Park. Runners will also enjoy views of Texarkana’s colorful mural art, featuring tributes to Scott Joplin and other local icons.

Classic Cars on Display

The Benefit Car Show will run from 8 AM to 3 PM, with a variety of classic and custom vehicles. Both events will raise funds for Haven Homes, a faith-based nonprofit serving men and women in the Texarkana and Four States area who are working to overcome challenges such as drug addiction, alcoholism, and other life-controlling issues.
