Don’t Miss the Return of Downtown LIVE! on September 12

Downtown LIVE! is back this Friday, September 12. If you've never been, you are in for a treat with music and art as it comes to the streets of historic downtown Texarkana.

Downtown Live is from 6 PM to 9 PM. You and your friends can visit the local shops as they stay open a little later. Grab a bit to eat and watch artists create right in front of you in the open air.

According to a press release, this month’s event will showcase live art by Joshua Halcomb, Miranda Layne, and Nay West, along with special activities throughout the district. Highlights include Crookneck Chandler performing at The Stained Page, Josh Arnold playing under the awning at Café Lucille, and a hands-on “Ghost Applique” workshop at The Crafty Nook.

This is a great time to check out the new Eagle Bourbon & Wine Lounge and The Wild Hare as they serve up great cocktails. Southern Grace Baby Boutique and other retailers will be open for evening shoppers. This is a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Miranda Layne, one of the featured artists, said,

Downtown LIVE is an opportunity for me to get lost in the play of creating again and have those watching get lost with me.

Downtown LIVE is held on the second Friday of each month and is presented by Main Street Texarkana, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the historic district.
