The Starz Youth Talent Show begins Monday April 3rd at the 78th Annual Four States Fair and Rodeo. If you know anyone between the ages of 12 and 17 who has a talent, tell them to sign up today because the 1st place winners at the finals will win a demo CD and cover design from SMART Studios!

The Starz Youth Talent Show's purpose is to discover and develop talent among the youth in the Texarkana area. It is FREE to sign up. Download the application and send it back in by email to Andi.Darby@townsquaremedia.com, fax it in to 870-772-0364 or drop it by the studios at 2324 Arkansas Blvd--the office is open 8:30 am to 5 pm  Monday - Friday.

The contest will be held at the Outdoor Stage during the 78th annual Four States Fair and Rodeo. Preliminaries are on Monday, April 3rd from 6-8pm with the finalists competing on Thursday April 6th starting at 7:30pm to determine the winners.

COMPETITION:

The competition is open to all amateur performers between the ages of 12-17 with no previous professional experiences or earned wages for performing. There will be 3 age categories: 12-13, 14-15, and 16-17. On Monday, contestants will perform on the Outdoor Stage in front of the judges and the audience. Performers can compete only once. The top 3 winners in each age category will be invited to compete in the Talent Show finals on Thursday at the Fair.  First place winners in the age categories will win a three song demo cd and cover design from Smart Studios.  Prizes will also be awarded in each age category at the finals.

ENTRIES:

Submission deadline for entry is Thursday, March 30th at 5pm.  No entry is considered valid until it is returned to Townsquare Media.  Entry Forms can be downloaded below or picked up at the Townsquare Media studios at 2324 Arkansas Blvd, Texarkana, Arkansas or the Four States Fairgrounds.

CONTEST FORMAT:

Each contestant will have a time limit of 3 minutes for their performance and 2 minutes for set-up time and sound check. Time will not be charged to your performance if the technicians request extra time. Townsquare Media and the Four States Fairgrounds will provide a complete sound system with technicians. Contestants are required to bring their own thumb drive with music (mp3 format), CD, or instrument.

JUDGING:

Each performance will be judged on stage presence, artistic performance, audience response and musical/talent content. Lyrics and presentation must be acceptable in a family environment.
