
Reward Raised to $35K for Texas Blue Alert Suspect
(Mix 93-1) A Blue Alert continues throughout Texas for the capture and arrest of Benjamin Hanil Song.
While watching television the other night, my phone went off with a Blue Alert. Then the same message was displayed on our television alerting us to this dangerous situation involving a suspect and law enforcement.
Reward Increased For This Suspect's Arrest
A reward totaling $35,000 is being offered for any information leading to his arrest and conviction.
This suspect should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. Benjamin Song is wanted in connection with his alleged involvement in the shooting and wounding of an Alvarado police officer at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado on July 4th.
The FBI has a $25,000 reward for his capture, while another $10,000 has been added to the total reward being offered. The additional 10 grand was announced by Texas Governor Gregg Abbott, who said,
'The targeted attacks against our federal law enforcement officers is a crime and must end. Criminals such as Benjamin Hanil Song will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I encourage Texans with information to call the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline or submit an anonymous tip online. Texas is and always will be a law-and-order state.'
Benjamin Song is now included on the Texas Department of Public Safety's 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List.

Federal Charges Filed Against Song
A federal arrest warrant was issued on July 9th, charging Song with attempted murder of a federal officer and discharge of a firearm during, in relation to, and in the furtherance of a crime of violence.

Benjamin Hanil Song is described as an Asian male weighing 150 pounds, standing 5'6" with brown eyes and black hair.
