Kelsea Ballerini Nominated at 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards
The 2017 Kids' Choice Awards nominees have been announced, and Kelsea Ballerini is the one and only country artist in the mix.
Ballerini is nominated for Favorite New Artist at the 2017 Kids' Choice Awards. She's competing for the honor alongside the Chainsmokers, Daya, Lukas Graham, Solange, Rae Sremmurd, Hailee Steinfeld and Twenty One Pilots.
Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards are the only live event where kids’ votes count -- and the biggest stars of the day get slimed. Nominees are selected from film, television, music and pop culture; in 2016, nominees included Blake Shelton, who hosted the ceremony ... and, yes, got slimed. In 2017, the awards will be hosted by WWE superstar John Cena, and will air live on March 11 at 8PM ET.

The year 2017 is shaping up to be a big one for 23-year-old Ballerini: She got engaged on Christmas Day, so the year will likely be filled with wedding planning (and possibly a wedding, though she and fiance Morgan Evans have not shared plans). Additionally, the singer is nominated for a Grammy (Best New Artist) at the upcoming 2017 Grammy Awards.
When she found out about her Grammy nod, Ballerini tweeted, “Oh my god. MOM I’M GOING TO THE GRAMMYS." And she received congratulations from artists such as Kelly Clarkson, as well as from fellow Best New Artist nominee Maren Morris.
