Northeast Texas Community College in Mount Pleasant and Texas A&M University-Texarkana officials recently renewed an agreement that affirms the transferability of courses from the Associate Degree in Nursing program at NTCC to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at A&M-Texarkana.

The articulation agreement enables NTCC students who successfully complete the courses outlined in the plan to transfer to A&M-Texarkana in a seamless transition without loss of semester credit hours towards the completion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Officials say the agreement was designed to encourage students to complete an entire associate degree at NTCC before transferring to A&M-Texarkana.

"The Northeast Texas Community College Nursing Department is proud to support this continued venture,” said Tonya Taylor, NTCC director of nursing. “This partnership promotes an easy access approach to the educational goals our students desire and improves the nursing care provided in the facilities and hospitals within both of our healthcare service areas."

“From the A&M-Texarkana perspective, this is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Northeast Texas Community College for the benefit of students and the region,” said Dr. Kathy Missildine, associate dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and director of nursing at A&M-Texarkana. “This type of partnership ensures that our students have a clear path to achieve their higher education goals.”
