A precautionary Boil Water Notice that was issued on Tuesday for Lakewood and Union Area residences in Texarkana, Arkansas has been rescinded the water is now safe to use.
Good news! Texarkana Water Utilities is reporting the final test results on our water have come back good. So with that being said, the boil order has been rescinded.
Update: March 17, the boil order issued Sunday is still in effect and will continue throughout most of the day, according to Texarkana Water Utilities.
Update: The boil order in Texarkana and surrounding areas will not be lifted until at least noon tomorrow Tuesday, March 17. 2020. According to a press release, this boil remains in effect due to additional state-testing requirements.
According to a press release issued on Monday, Oct. 15, The Central Bowie County WSC public water system is advising all its customers to boil their water before drinking or using for other related water usage such as, brushing your teeth, washing hands, cooking, etc. This boil ordinance is due to low disinfectant residuals found by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
