Do you like to run for the pure joy of it?

Texarkana is getting ready for it's first ever color run appropriately named the Amanda Fussell Woodman Memorial CASA Colorful 5K and Family Fun Run.

The Songwriters on the Edge of Texas Concert was this past Sunday night (April 14) at the Northridge Country Club in Texarkana. A festive crowd turned out for the benefit for CASA which included a concert from local band Colt Classics and featured ACM nominee Sunny Sweeney as the featured artist. The event culminated with their annual Golf tournament on Monday.

One of my favorite events of the year is coming up in Texarkana Sunday, April 14 at 6 p.m. when CASA presents: Songwriters on the Edge of Texas Concert featuring country star Sunny Sweeney at Northridge Country Club.

This year for CASA's "Songwriters on the Edge of Texas" concert, the featured performer just happens to also be nominated for the ACM "Top New Female Performer" Award for 2013.

The Annual Edge Of Texas Songwriters Concert took place Sunday, April 10th at the Northridge Country Club in Texarkana. The show was a benefit for CASA (court appointed special advocates) which is an organization that helps children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are now going through the painful process of recovery.

CASA volunteers are caring adults who get to know children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect and are now going through the painful process of recovery. CASA’s provide the courts with objective information and recommendations to help ensure the child’s best interests are served.
