Last week I wrote a feature story on songs that mention Texarkana. So this week I thought I would follow it up with a story about movies that reference Texarkana.
When I was a young boy growing up in Texarkana, I remember hearing about some hairy creature on the news that was terrorizing Fouke, Ark. Over time, the legend became known as the Fouke Monster and the urban legend continues today.
This Saturday evening in downtown Texarkana, the Silvermoon will be hosting a "Charles B. Pierce Mini-Retrospective" to honor and commemorate the life and works of one of the founding fathers of the independent film movement.
It was the early 1970s when I remember hearing and reading about the legendary Fouke Monster (also known to some as southern Sasquatch, Bigfoot or Boggy Creek Monster).
