From everything I've heard from summer camps and such tics have been bad this summer, so now is as good a time as any to go over again the best methods for removing those nasty little bloodsuckers.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are warning us of a virus that is apparently being carried by ticks called the Powassan Virus (POW), a neuroinvasive disease that currently has no known cure and about a 10% death rate for those that develop encephalitis from POW.
Nasty little critters, ticks I mean. There are a lot of insects and other crawly creatures that can just ruin an otherwise fun outing into nature, but ticks are pretty much right up there on the top of my list.
