Veterans Day is today, Friday, November 11, it is always November 11 no matter what day it falls during the week. Veterans Day is a day set aside to remember and recognize veterans who have served or who are currently serving to protect our freedoms.

It has been said and I agree, Alex Smith Park is a hidden gem in Miller County, Arkansas. Texarkana Scout Troop 3 has used it for many years for primitive camping experiences and earning merit badges. There are several Eagle Scout projects around the park as well, two of which I helped build myself. Smith Park has always been a very handy place to get away without having to drive too far away. In
Thanksgiving leftovers were not limited to turkey and dressing this year as COVID-19 cases increased slightly in our area post turkey day. Trauma Service Area F (see charts below) which includes Texarkana, New Boston, and Paris, has a reported 42 people hospitalized, that's up a bit from 33 reported last week, 15 of those in ICU, 8 on ventilators, and thank goodness, still 0 pediatric cases.
