What happens when you travel 2,000 miles from Washington State to Crater of Diamond State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas with hopes of finding a diamond to be made into a special engagement ring?

There are a ton of fall festivals going on this month, and one of them is a short drive to Murfreesboro, Ark., for the Diamonds in the Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017.

Arkansas is known for its natural, scenic beauty. It's also the home of the only diamond park in the world where for a nominal fee you dig for diamonds and what you find you get to keep. Arkansas is also home to several crystal mines where you can dig for quartz crystals, too. With cooler weather on the way diamond-hunting is a must thing to do for a family outing.

An Oklahoma teenager has become the latest person to discover a diamond at the Craters of Diamond State Park in Murfreesboro in southwest Arkansas.
