The Texas Department of Transportation is continuing its work on the construction of a new bridge over the Red River on U.S. Highway 259 in Northeast Texas.

The Red River is nearing its crest across Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas, but determining how to get from point A to point B can be difficult with road closures.
The Red River is expected to get out of banks over a portion of NE Texas over the next few days. The Red should crest a little above a foot over flood stage near DeKalb at Pecan Point.
