A bit milder temperatures and some rain last week were the highlights of the weather, the highlights, or lowlights, or at least the numbers of those arrested in the Sheriff's Report went down last week as well. Your Bowie County Sheriff's Office arrested a total of 67 people last week, 17 of those by BCSO, another 46 were turned over by other law enforcement agencies to Bowie County.

The Texas Commission on the Arts Board of Directors met September 3rd, and voted to award $56,000 to the Texarkana Arts and Historic District for a Texas Cultural Project grant.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA.gov), the dryness and heat will continue at least through this week and maybe deep into next week as well.
