Back in November, every Twinkie lover in the USA panicked (including me) when word spread that Hostess was about to go  belly up. That would mean no more of the creme-filled sugary treat that I grew up with as a kid.

When the US auto industry was in jeopardy four years ago President Obama stepped in with a bailout package. Now it's the American junk food industry that's in peril, with Hostess Brands closing up shop and heading for liquidation, and some want Obama to take an even more drastic step. Daniel B. of Kansas City has started a petition for the president to "Nationalize the Twinkie industry."

You might want to hold off on paying $30 for a box of Twinkies on Ebay.

We went to our local Walmart when we got off of the air earlier, and the Twinkies were gone! I was lucky to get the last box of Hostess Suzy Q's. But if you just HAVE to get some Twinkies we have your answer.

Hostess is shutting down the ovens in their bakeries, and their trucks will no longer deliver the tasty treat that many of us grew up thinking would survive even a nuclear bomb.  After hearing the news, I learned more about Twinkies than I ever knew, I bet some of these facts will be new to you too.

This morning it was announced that Hostess is closing it's doors. I can't believe...no more Twinkies, no more Ding Dongs, no more Sno Balls.
