The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) is preparing to launch a new bladesmith school this fall to celebrate and preserve the art of bladesmithing and the birth of the famous Bowie Knife in Arkansas. UAHT has worked closely with Historic Washington State Park to establish the James Black School of Bladesmithing in Historic Washington, Arkansas.

The 51st Jonquil Festival this past weekend went off without a hitch. The weather was pretty much perfect for the 3-day festival in Washington State Park Arkansas. From the looks of the large crowd that attended, I think everyone was itching to get outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather with no rain for a change.

Historic Washington State Park announces the annual summer concert series “Music in the Park” with the theme “Sounds of Quartets.” A free concert will be held on the third Saturday of June, July, and August beginning at 7:30PM.
