Winter Weather

Enjoy the nice weather while you can because it's about to change dramatically this weekend heading into the coldest weather of the season by Monday.

It's been a hot summer, so what are the chances of us having a cold winter? Will we see snow? If so how much? Or will it be warmer than normal? No need to wait because now we know or at least have an idea of what our winter will be like thanks to the Farmers Almanac.

Can we just get some seasonable weather around here?

That warmer weather earlier this week is done and we are back to a wintery mix for all of Arkansas and most of Texas too. What's in store for Texarkana, Hot Springs, Dallas?

Last night. Governor Greg Abbott delivered a televised statewide address on the state's response to recent power outages caused by the severe winter weather as well as the actions the state is taking to ensure the reliability of Texas’ power infrastructure. Believe it or not, there is a chance of a wintery mix of sleet and snow for the Texarkana area from Saturday thru Wednesday. Starting with a slight chance on Saturday and the temperatures will be falling into the 20's by Saturday night and staying well below freezing for a few days. That is serious cold for our area.

It's funny how we react in the South to wintery weather especially since this morning most of us woke up to sleet in Texarkana. Further North of us some folks were getting some snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the area for tonight through early tomorrow.

This warning means it is likely that precipitation will tonight transition from rain to a mix of ice and perhaps snow for some of the four state's region, including Texarkana, as arctic air moves in and temperatures fall below freezing.
