Tax Free Weekend in Arkanasas This Weekend August 3 & 4
With school just around the corner, it's time to get the kids their supplies and clothes for the new school year. This weekend you can save big with the Tax Free Weekend in Arkansas.
Just think no taxes on items for school including new clothes, school supplies and some electronics. But not everything is tax-free and some conditions are set in place where you will pay taxes. It's best to know how this weekend works to navigate and get the most out of it.
What Items Are Exempt?
As a general rule, you won't have to pay taxes on school supplies, clothes and clothing items even diapers.
Clothing
Here's how it works, clothing and footwear with a sale price under $100 for each item are eligible. Things like shirts, pants, dresses, shoes, and undergarments. Also included are baby items like diapers and receiving blankets.
Clothing Accessories
Clothing accessories with a price of less than $50 per item. These are things like Briefcases, Cosmetics, Hair barrettes, Hair Bows and Handbags.
Some Electronics, School Supplies and More
Some examples of things that will be tax-free this weekend include electronic devices that students use like computer monitors, cell phones, laptops, and e-readers. Electronics that qualify don't have a price limit.
When Is Arkansas Tax-Free Weekend
Arkansas Tax-Free Weekend will begin at 12:01 AM on Saturday, August 3 and end at 11:59 PM on Sunday, August 4.
What About Online Shopping?
Online shopping is available too, just be sure to watch for shopping prices to not go over the allotted price for the item and it's going to an Arkansas address.
