
Texas A&M-Texarkana Shatters Enrollment Records for Second Straight Year
The numbers are in and they are crazy good. This is the second year in a row that Texas A&M University-Texarkana has set new records for enrollment. Since the fall of 2023, the university has seen a 40 percent increase in its total enrollment and a 50 percent jump in semester credit hours.
Record-Breaking Growth Across the Board
The high enrollment numbers are all across the board in all categories. First-time college student numbers have more than doubled in the past two years. Transfer student numbers are also up 29% and graduate student enrollments have grown 38%. The university has also seen a 94 percent increase in international students, who now represent 25 different countries. And the number of students now living on campus has grown by 72 percent in the past 2 years.

TAMU-T Growing from Near and Far
The number of local students has grown too, with students who are from up to one hour away from Texarkana having grown 128% and students who are originally within 100 miles have increased 136%.
Strategy Behind the Success at TAMU-T
University President Dr. Ross Alexander said in a press release that the growth is
the direct result of an intentional and innovative strategy that resonates with students of all ages, types, and backgrounds.
Vice President of Enrollment Venus Lillis added that they are seeing a higher caliber of students, like valedictorians, salutatorians, and other top-ranked students, who are choosing to come to Texas A&M-Texarkana.
