Master Cpl. Byron Greff of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry was home on leave from Afghanistan when his wife scheduled a photo shoot of their daughter Brielle in their home. On a whim, the photographer decided to include dad in a few of the shots. Less than a week later, Byron was one of 17 people killed in a road side bomb attack in Afghanistan.

The photographer, Eric Hourning, has posted his recollections of that photo shoot.
