2017 CMT Music Awards Nominees Announced
The nominees for the 2017 CMT Music Awards have been announced.
Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett lead the nominations with four apiece. Urban is up for Video, Male Video and Collaborative Video of the Year (with Carrie Underwood), as well as Social Superstar, and he and Rhett will square off in the Video, Male Video and Social Superstar categories. Rhett is also up for CMT Performance of the Year with Nick Jonas for their collaboration on "Close" from CMT Crossroads.
Ballerini is nominated for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year for "Peter Pan," and her collaboration with Meghan Trainor and Jill Scott for a Shania Twain medley at the CMT Artists of the Year ceremony is nominated for CMT Performance of the Year. She also scored a nod in the Social Superstar category.
Lauren Alaina, Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Dierks Bentley are among the artists who earned multiple nominations in the 2017 CMT Music Awards, which will move from Bridgestone Arena to the Music City Center in Nashville for the first time.
Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Rhett have been announced as performers at the 2017 CMT Music Awards, with more artists to be announced. Nashville star Charles Esten is set to host the broadcast, which airs on CMT on June 7.
Voting is currently open for the Social Superstar category, which features Jake Owen, Eldredge, Urban, Lauren Alaina, Rhett and Ballerini. Fans can vote on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtags #CMTAwards and the artist tags #VoteBrett, #VoteJake, #VoteKeith, #VoteKelsea, #VoteLauren or #VoteThomas, up to 10 times with any valid Twitter or Instagram handle each day through June 6. They'll be able to vote 50 votes per handle on June 7.
