The search is over for the suspect involved in the double homicide at Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

Suspect Captured and Now in Custody

In a late press conference, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that 28-year-old Andrew James McGann was arrested in connection with the deaths of 43-year-old Clinton and 41-year-old Cristen Brink, who recently moved to Arkansas. The couple was hiking with their two children when they were allegedly stabbed; the kids were able to get away unharmed and remain in safe custody.

Suspect Was Getting a Haircut in Springdale, Arkansas

According to THV11, McGann was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at a Springdale beauty salon where the suspect was getting a haircut. Earlier this week, a composite sketch and photo were released by the Arkansas State Police.

Governor Sanders Calls Brink Family Members

After the suspect was arrested, Governor Sanders called the Brink family to offer her condolences and to inform them. Sanders went on to say that if you move to this state and commit a crime, you will be hunted down by authorities and brought to justice. The press conference lasted approximately 20 minutes. Another press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Arkansas State Police Headquarters to answer more questions.

An investigation into the motive behind the killings is still underway, and more information is forthcoming from the Arkansas State Police. Meanwhile, McGann is expected in court on August 1 and is facing two counts of capital murder charges.
