Arkansas Man Wins $50,000 Lottery on The Way to Wife’s Birthday Dinner

Timothy Augustyniak from Paragould just won $50,000 playing a scratch-off game in the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery and he won it as he was out driving with his wife to her birthday dinner. Let's hope he's sharing his win with the birthday girl

Timothy bought the $20 ticket in the $50,000 Frenzy and it turned out to be a great birthday celebration surprise.  He bought the ticket at the Kum & Go #349 on Linwood Drive in Paragould, Arkansas, as they were driving to his wife's birthday dinner. They stopped for gas and that is when Timothy bought a ticket.

In a press release, he told the lottery officials,

I was thinking about dinner! I’m always expecting to win the big one, but this time, I wasn’t even thinking about it.

Once he saw he had won he ran back to the car to tell his wife and just to make sure she sent him back into the store to scan the ticket. Turned out it really was a $50,000 ticket!

Timothy says he is planning a nice family vacation with the money. He also said that he is happy knowing that part of the money from the Arkansas lottery is used for scholarships for Arkansas students.
