Two Arkansas Towns Now on Most Dangerous In America List

We all know there are dangerous towns all over the country but when people talk about the state of Arkansas, no one wants to hear that.

Recently a list came out of the Most Dangerous Towns in America. These towns have a population of under 15,000 residents and the highest violent crime. I am sad and shocked to see that not only one Arkansas town made the list but two towns. To make it even worse, there are only 10 towns on the list.

Usually, a family will move to a small town for a simpler way of life and a safe place to raise a family. Well, these two towns according to this list are small but you might think twice on the 'safe' place to raise your kids.

Coming in at #6 on the list is...

Helena West Helena

With a population of 8,600 this town's high unemployment and sparse job market are the cause of the high crime rate.The police department didn't get a very good rating on its police scorecard, but that is because police are way outnumbered by criminals in this town.  The violent crime at 23.2 people per 1,000 people. That is high.

Coming in at # 3

Osceola

This town of only 6,600 people has had a lot of economic struggles, poverty, lack of jobs, and the town is very isolated. You would think that would bring them together but unfortunately from this report that is not the case. The crime rate in this little town is 25.9 per 1,000 people; remember there are only about 6,000 people to begin with!
