Tragic Events Unfold: Fatal Shootings Shake McGehee And Lake Village Communities

Arkansas State Police (ASP) are busy investigating two fatal shootings that took place over the weekend, one in McGehee, and the other in Lake Village, Arkansas.

McGehee, Arkansas:

The ASP Criminal Investigation Division is gathering evidence in the shooting death that occurred on Saturday, December 14, 2024. According to the report, McGehee Police discovered the body of Kevin Morgan, 20 years old, in the driver's seat of a white Chevy Avalanche which was parked at the side of a residence located in the 800 block of North Street.

Morgan appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head. The victim's body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the exact cause of, manner, and time of death.

The investigation is ongoing at this time, no suspects were mentioned in the report.

Lake Village, Arkansas:

ASPs CID is also investigating another fatal shooting in Lake Village, Arkansas. According to the report, this second incident occurred on Sunday, December 15, 2024, around 6:30 PM at the Country Place Apartments on Mulberry Street in Lake Village.

In this case, two individuals were shot and taken to Chicot Memorial Medical Center. 20-year-old Markell Lamber, of Lake Village, died from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at 7:46 PM by the Chicot County Coroner. Lamber will also be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab, where the manner and cause of death will be determined.

An unnamed 17-year-old boy who was also shot at that location was treated and released from the local hospital.

CID Special Agents have arrested 22-year-old Antario Andrews, of Lake Village, who has now been charged with Capital Murder in this case which remains under investigation.
