Big Bird Costume Sales on the Rise Across America

Big Bird's popularity is on the rise across America, thanks to Mitt Romney mentioning him in the first presidential debate.

Disguise Costumes in Poway, Calif., the officially licensed manufacturer of Sesame Street costumes, reports that Big Bird costume sales have spiked since the debate. The New York Times says that many stores in the Big Apple have sold out of the costumes.

While the majority of suits being sold are the adult male version, according to CostumeCraze.com,  sales of the "Sassy Big Bird" costume are up 500% over last year.
