The first positive presumptive case of COVID-19 in Bowie County has been identified, according to CBS 19

Presumptive means that the person has tested positive with testing done on the state and local level. Currently, presumptive positive cases must have sample undergo confirmatory testing at the CDC.

According to a a news release, officials will release more information after they receive confirmation from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

In addition, as a result of the Corona Virus pandemic, all public schools in Arkansas are currently closed and Liberty Eylau and Pleasant Grove School Districts has announced that they will close tomorrow, March 16 - March 27.

The Bowie County/City of Texarkana, TX Emergency Operations Center is now open and will operate Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The public telephone number is (903) 255-5560.
