Bowie County Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested

A male suspect, who authorities allege prayed on underage female victims, has been arrested by the Bowie County Sheriffs Office.

According to the sheriffs office, Investigator Chris Sutherland has been investigating four sexual assault cases all involving the same alleged suspect.

After a lengthy investigation, four arrest warrants for Sexual Assault of Child were issued for Gary “Tanner” Royal. Mr. Royal was arrested on August 6 and taken to the Bi-State Jail. His bond has been set at $75,000 on each charge and he was still in custody at the time of this release.

All four of his cases involve female victims between the ages of thirteen and fourteen in the Redwater, Texas area. During the course of these investigations information was gathered that leads Investigator Sutherland to believe there may be more people who have been victimized by Mr. Royal.
