Dashcam Footage of Man Caught in Deadly Arkansas Tornado

When a tornado ripped through parts of Little Rock, Arkansas on Friday, March 31, many folks were caught off guard by the fast-approaching storm. In a matter of a few minutes, the tornado that was named a catastrophic tornado by the National Weather Service left a path of destruction and devastation across a broad area overturning cars, and 18-wheelers, ripping off roofs, and damaging homes and businesses. One Arkansas woman and her husband were in a business when the tornado struck, she grabbed her phone and started shooting video of the approaching tornado. The frightening video went viral over the weekend after she posted it on her Facebook page.

Caught in the Storm

Another video, making the rounds is of 24-year-old Cody Coombes who works for a pest control service he was out on a call in his work van in a residential area when he got caught right in the middle of the tornado.

He grabbed his cell phone and began recording what he was seeing keep watching the video because his dashcam caught a different view.

Thankfully, Cody survived the tornado and was able to share the video but what a scary situation to be in.

The EF-3 tornado was packing winds of 165 miles per hour and was one of the strongest tornados to hit Arkansas since 1999. On Friday, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared a state of emergency over the thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Besides widespread damage, there were power outages as well, and law enforcement officials are telling everyone that was affected by the tornado to be patient it will take a while for all the damage to be cleaned up and the power restored. The good news is that the community as well as other organizations have come together to help those in need.

The National Weather Service is predicting another round of strong to severe thunderstorms on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. When you are warned to take cover people should take it seriously and quit trying to put your life on the line to capture a video.
